The Paddock
Activities in the region
Le Déluge belongs to the municipality of La Drenne located in the heart of Country of mother-of-pearl. Formerly called Dilvagium, Diligiuù or Diluvium, the village located 212 meters above sea level is one of the highest points in the Oise.
As in many surrounding villages, a large part of the inhabitants lived, in the 19th and 20th centuries, from mother-of-pearl and tablet making.
This involves the manufacture of various objects in mother-of-pearl, wood, horn, ivory, shell and bone. By the way, one of the living witnesses of this craft is the Museum of Mother-of-Pearl and Tablets in Meru. Among the products, we can mention the manufacture of toothbrushes, mother-of-pearl buttons, shoe horns and fans.
THE PARK OF THE CASTLE OF CORBEIL-CERF
-
Rue François de Lubersac – 60110 Corbeil-Cerf
Dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, this castle was first of all a simple hunting lodge.
Owned from 1769 to 2020 by the Lubersac family, this castle is best known for its gardens. It was indeed in the 19th century that the Marquis de Lubersac created a continuity between buildings and nature. For this he uses giant arcades of trees cut into vaults. In 1960, the Belgian landscape architect René Pechère added four gardens: a rose garden and three "secret gardens".
The Château de Corbeil-Cerf is a private property.

HÉNONVILLE CASTLE
The Bucy family built the Château d'Hénonville in 1554. It rests on the remains of a fortified castle, destroyed in 1358 during the Great Jacquerie.
The corner towers are the oldest parts and date from the 16th century. These were not incorporated into the central building until the 18th century. It was also at the same time that the two independent pavilions with Mansard roofs were built. In 1902, Henri Bamberger, founder of the Banque de Paris et des Pays-Bas acquired it. After the defeat of 1940, his son Raymond, owner of the estate, was arrested and imprisoned in Beauvais. It was then that the Nazis requisitioned the castle. At the Liberation, an American garrison settled there. And finally, in 1946, an association for the protection of children survivors of the Shoah bought the castle. Since 1975, the municipality has owned it. From now on, it is used for the organization of events and for rental for seminars and weddings.
the Community of Communes of Sablons has restored the Château d'Hénonville as part of Operation Heritage.

NACRE AND TABLET MUSEUM
The Museum of Mother-of-pearl and Tablets, opened in 1999, pays homage to a typical know-how of the territory: the tablet-making. But what is tableting? This activity is defined by the manufacture of various and varied objects from raw materials of natural origin: wood, mother-of-pearl, shell, bone, horn and ivory.
It was in the 16th century that the tablet factory was established in Méru and its surroundings. In winter, during the off-season, when work in the fields was at a standstill, the peasants carried out minor woodwork which provided them with a subsistence income.
Later, in the 19th century, the activity developed and became industrialized. Indeed, it was at this time that the consequent production of mother-of-pearl objects, and particularly buttons, earned Méru the nickname of "WORLD CAPITAL OF MOTHER-OF-PEARL".
GOLF OF THE TEMPLARS
Designed by the architects Patrick Fromanger and Marc Adam, the Golf des Templiers extends over a slightly hilly terrain, crossed by a river, the "Troësne", with vast bodies of water bordered by century-old willows, whose history tells that they were planted at the time of Henri IV who practiced hunting in these places.
The fairways, with their varied designs, benefit from automatic watering, as does the entire course.
The greens built on sand are made difficult by a pronounced shape and a generous surface area.
Many bunkers expand the course and effectively defend the greens.
18-hole course - Par 71 - 6130 meters - Practice 20 posts including 4 covered.
